Derek T Earl, DO, CIC, Medical Director
Dr. Earl received a degree from BYU, attended Medical School at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed a residency in Family Medicine through the University of Washington/Family Medicine Spokane. He has a comprehensive family practice, but is also formally trained and certified in Concussion Management. He has a busy pediatric and adolescent medicine practice and sports medicine practice. He has been serving as Team Physician for many area schools since 2004.
Jonas H Oltman, DO
Dr. Oltman is a Hermiston native. He received his undergraduate degree from Walla Walla University. He then went on to medical school at A.T. Still University in Missouri. Dr Oltman completed his residency in family medicine in 2014 and then moved back to Hermiston to join FHA and work with his father. He really enjoys taking care of families and getting to know them. In his spare time Dr Oltman enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his wife and three boys.
Patrick B. Johansing, DO
Dr. Patrick Johansing received his undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University, completed a masters at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and completed medical school at Pacific Northwest University. He attended Kadlec family medicine residency in Richland, Washington before joining Family Health Associates in 2020. He enjoys the broad and relational nature of family medicine.
Shara M. Salverda, FNP
Ms Salverda has been with FHA since 2012. Before graduating with an advanced degree from Graceland University in Independence, MO, she had extensive nursing experience, including working in the ICU. She has been in the health care field for over 20 years and is from Pendleton, OR. Since joining FHA, she has been one of the busiest primary care nurse practitioners in the State of Oregon, largely due to her focus on adolescent health and Women’s health care.
Jessica L. Oltman, FNP-C
Ms Oltman, who grew up locally and in Tri-Cities, received her Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from Walla Walla University. After working as an RN for several years, she decided to go back to school and she received her Master’s in Nursing degree through the University of Cincinnati in 2012. Jessica worked for several years at a Family Medicine Clinic in Colorado prior to returning to Hermiston and joining Family Health Associates in 2014. She especially enjoys caring for children and providing education on how to live a healthy lifestyle. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her husband and children.
Dawn R. Headings, FNP-BC
Ms Headings chose to go into nursing because she has always been interested in medicine and, particularly, working with families. She has a special interest in pediatrics, internal medicine and orthopedics. “Being a nurse practitioner at FHA gives me a chance to spend more time with my patients and enables a patient-specific, holistic approach to each encounter unique to them and their needs. I enjoy developing relationships with the people I get to see and know.”
Dawn worked as an RN for 20 years, mostly in out-patient, community settings in the Willamette Valley, before receiving her advanced degree from Georgetown University in 2014. She is board certified in Family Practice and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She and her husband live in Hermiston with their three children. They enjoy watching and supporting their children in various sports, including college basketball, running, hunting and various other endeavors. They enjoy spending time with family and friends. Her favorite places to vacation include Disneyland and anywhere with an ocean and a beach.
John R. Adair, PA-C
Physician Assistant, John R. Adair, joined Family Health Associates in August 2016. Prior to this, he started his career with Morrow County Health District at the Irrigon Medical Clinic in 2010. John earned a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Exercise Science and a Master’s degree from Idaho State University in Physician Assistant Studies. He enjoys spending time with his wife and family of 3 boys and 1 girl. They keep him busy year round, whether on the basketball court, soccer and baseball fields, in swimming pools or on the ski slopes. John also enjoys road cycling, triathlons, and relaxing on the golf course with his wife. Some of his first medical exposure occurred when he and his newlywed wife spent a semester abroad for a medical internship in Ghana, West Africa, volunteering in a rural Salvation Army Medical Clinic. John chose family practice as he loves getting to know families and treating patients of all ages throughout their lifetime.
Maria A. Faaeteete, FNP-C
Ms. Faaeteete joined FHA in February 2017, subsequent to her completion of a Masters in Nursing through Maryville University. Prior to this, Maria obtained degrees from both the University of Oregon and the University of Wisconsin. Maria also worked at Good Shepherd for 9 years, spending 6 on the medical/surgical floor and 3 in the ER. Her primary interests include sports medicine and orthopedics and pediatrics.
Joseph Stanger, FNP-C
Mr. Stanger is joining the FHA family this year (2023). He started his medical career as an EMT prior to going to nursing school. He graduated from OSHU with his bachelor’s degree prior to starting at Good Shepherd where he worked in the ER for 16 years. During the last few years, he completed his master’s in nursing through Maryville University. Joe loves spending time with his children and grandchildren, and battles with wanting to spend time outdoors and being a hermit and nerd.
