Benzocaine/Menthol Oral Lozenge (BENZOCAINE/MENTHOL LOZENGE - MUCOUS MEMBRANE (ORAL))

This medicine is used for the following purposes:

  • mouth pain
  • sore throat
  • mouth ulcers

Brand Name(s): Angidol, Cepacol Sore Throat Pain Relief, Chloraseptic Sore Throat

Generic Name: Benzocaine/Menthol

Instructions

Let the medicine dissolve in the mouth and then swallow.

Do not chew or swallow it whole.

Do not rinse your mouth after using this medicine.

Store at room temperature away from heat, light, and moisture. Do not keep in the bathroom.

Tell your doctor if symptoms do not get better or if they get worse.

You may stop using this medicine if you no longer have symptoms.

Cautions

Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you ever had an allergic reaction to a medicine.

Do not use the medication any more than instructed.

Side Effects

  • numbness of mouth or throat

A few people may have an allergic reaction to this medicine. Symptoms can include difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help quickly.
